Types of Braces

There are several types of braces available that operate with different modes of action.

Since there are so many different types of techniques, systems and products on the market, we recommend that you have a consultation beforehand Dr Sarah Good or Dr Pourghadiri.

They will be able to advise you about the best treatment option for your specific case.

Here at Elite Orthodontics, we are always asked what are braces, and how do they work? Braces are devices which can be fixed to teeth or removable, and they gently guide the teeth to move in specified directions.

As the components of braces put constant gentle pressure on the teeth, specialized bone cells in the jawbone remove the bone in the direction of the movement and lay down new bone in the spaces left by the tooth behind it.

This way the teeth “move” with their full support structures still in place.

The teeth travel through bone in response to light continuous pressure.

This is a biological process which takes time and it cannot be hurried. Everyone has a different biological response time, and treatment times may vary in different individuals. It is also dependent upon which particular teeth straightening system is applicable.

Our specialists at Elite Orthodontics, Dr Mahmoud Pourghadiri and Dr Sarah Good, have for years limited their practice to the treatment of orthodontic problems only.

They apply their professional skills and modern facilities of Elite Orthodontics in the diagnosis and identification of orthodontic problems. offer various kinds of options for treatment depending on your unique and individual dental problem you may have.

At your consultation, our specialist orthodontists seek to understand your concerns and also your goals and vision for your final outcome, so that we can create a unique plan and design braces that bring about an excellent result and meet your expectations.

We know that keeping braces discreet or invisible is very important for many of our patients, and we strive to ensure that braces are kept inconspicuous for those patients.

This, together with our specific qualifications and training in orthodontics, is essential to provide the expert care that gives patients healthy straight teeth, beautiful smiles and enhanced self-esteem.
